After reaching a deal with Palestinian transportation authorities, Dubai-based ride-hailing app Careem announced it will resume service Palestinian city of Ramallah, located in Israeli-occupied West Bank, according to Reuters.

The ride-hailing group suspended service in the city in November at the request of the Palestinian Authority, while the groups negotiated terms of operation.

Careem has agreed for its fares to be the same as metered taxis. As of now, only licensed taxi drivers are driving for the ride-hailing group, although it plans to add private cars later.

Officials believe Careem will remain competitive, as booking and paying on the app are more convenient that hailing a cab.
