Dave Funston, manager, national fleet operations for Mazda North American Operations, passed away on April 1, 2021, following a three-year battle with colon cancer. He was 61.He has the distinction, to date, of being longest reining fleet manager in the history of Mazda North American Operations.

Smalley began his early auto rental career in the mid 1930's helping out his grandfather at his fledgling car rental agency on Miami Beach. From here, Smalley made a long-time impact at Hertz Corp. and launched a national RV rental company that now boasts a fleet of more than 4,000 RVs.
