Rental car sales at SFO increased from $400.6 million in fiscal year 2010-2011 to $454.8 million in 2011-2012 for a 13.5% increase.
After releasing the last update to the June 5 ballot in San Mateo County, Measure T won, with 50.09% of voters approving the 2.5% tax on the gross receipts of car rental businesses in unincorporated areas of the county, including the San Francisco International Airport.
According to the county’s semi-final ballot results, Measure T, which would impose a car rental business license tax in unincorporated areas of the county, is winning by 62 votes. All mail-in ballots are expected to be counted by the end of the week, if not early next week.
