Expedia Inc. has completed its $1.6 billion acquisition of Orbitz Worldwide Inc. after the U.S. Justice Department announced that it wouldn’t challenge the merger.
Congressman Hank Johnson, along with industry groups like the American Hotel & Lodging Association, has expressed concerns to the Department of Justice regarding Expedia’s proposed acquisition of Orbitz.
Online travel agency Expedia announced it has entered into an agreement to acquire Orbitz Worldwide Inc., including all of Orbitz’s brands, for $12 per share in cash. This represents an enterprise value of about $1.6 billion.
Online travel company Expedia Inc. has acquired Auto Escape Group, an online car rental reservation company in Europe. Auto Escape will become part of Expedia's CarRentals.com brand.
