After first trying out new technology in a rental car, about half (49%) of car rental customers have added features or technology to their "wish list" when purchasing a car, according to a Enterprise Holdings survey.

The patented system — used by Avis Budget Group — lets renters reserve a vehicle online or using a smartphone and confirm its availability in real time through a wireless device inside the vehicle.
