July was the second month of strong year-over-year rates, up $6.48 from a year ago. The Northeast region had the highest rates with an increase of $15.17.
After six straight months of negative comparisons, June airport rates were up $6.37 over last year.

In May, the rate quotes were down $1.44 — the sixth month in a row that rates have been down. The Northeast and Midwest regions were up $8.39 and $6.16, respectively. Boston had the highest average rate quote of $94.13.
April 2017 rate quotes were down again, continuing a pattern of year-over-year losses in six of the last seven months. The Northeast region had the highest rate at $57.27 — $19.55 higher than the lowest Southwest average of $38.72.
March airport quotes continued to drop for the fourth consecutive month, with the quote down $6.42 from last March. All regions but the Midwest were down, with the Northwest down $13.24 — the biggest decrease in the five regions.
February’s average nationwide quote was down $4.49 from last February after decreases of $1.02 in December and $3.87 in January. All regions were down, with the Northwest down $10.92 — the biggest decrease in the five regions.
Airport rates in January dropped $3.87 compared to a year ago. The Tennant Group and Rate-Highway also took a look at the major eight rental brands’ average rate quotes over the last three years. National has held the highest rates for the most weeks over Hertz and Avis.
December airport rate quotes were down $1.02 nationwide from a year ago. With year-to-year comparisons from down $6.11 in January to up to $5.48 in September, the last three months of 2016 were relatively stable.
