The City of Paris, Europcar and Autolib announced Nov. 28 that the parties reached an agreement to keep the name "Autolib' for the electric car sharing service.

The agreement ended the judicial proceeding from June 29, 2012 made by the Paris Court of Appeal that prohibited the City of Paris to use the name Autolib. Europcar said that it has waived the judgment and its implementation, and that the company will work in a business partnership with Autolib.

The parties reached a decision based on the conditions that the City of Paris will be the owner of the Autolib brand and contribute to the promotion of the car sharing service.
