California Assembly Bill 753, known as the Raechel and Jacqueline Houck Auto Rental Car Safety Act, was approved by the Senate judiciary committee 4-1 on Tuesday. The bill passed the California House in May.
Introduced by Assemblymember Bill Monning, the bill would force car rental agencies to ground all vehicles under a safety recall until they are repaired.
The proposed legislation now moves to the Senate appropriations committee.
