Cars for Tweets?
Los Angeles-based exotic car renter Indulgence Auto Rental invites celebrities to get a free rental in exchange for a Tweet about the company and their services.
Exotic car rental company Indulgence Auto Rental of Los Angeles has an offer for celebrities that they may not be able to refuse. Celebrities "who are influential and have a large number of followers on Twitter" are invited by Indulgence Auto Rental to rent a car in exchange for a Tweet about the company and their services. To take advantage of this offer the celebrity first has to contact the company to see if they qualify.
The vehicles offered by Indulgence Auto Rental are not typical rental cars. With a lineup that includes names like Ferrari, Lamborghini, Maserati, Rolls Royce, and many other highly sought sports cars and luxury automobiles, "even the pickiest celebrities will find cars that they will want to drive and be seen in," the company states in a press release.
"This is a great opportunity for anyone who is well-known and has a large following on Twitter to drive the car of their dreams, and all that is expected in return is a Tweet letting followers know about the experience. Indulgence Auto offers special deals and incredible prices, so even individuals who do not qualify for this offer can drive away in a flashy sports car or luxury auto for a very reasonable rental rate," the release continues.
The company sets out the offer criteria as follows: "Celebrities who are looking for an exotic or luxury car rental may receive a rental from Indulgence Auto Rental in exchange for a Tweet, if the celebrity meets certain criteria, like: 1) having a verified Twitter account; 2) having more than 2 million followers on Twitter; 3) be personally liked by Indulgence Auto Rental founders. An example of an influential celebrity is Stephen Colbert. Conditions apply: vehicle availability, sufficient car insurance coverage, following company's rental policy, etc."
