Hertz to Open Times Square Showroom?
The prime real estate space would showcase fuel-efficient Hertz vehicles, and possibly models from Tesla. Vehicles, though, would not be rented from this location.
Hertz Rental Car is looking to lease space in 11 Times Square in New York City for a showroom that will exhibit green cars and design concepts for future eco-friendly models, according to an article in Real Estate Weekly.
According to the New England-based publication, Hertz plans to occupy a portion of both the ground floor and either the second floor or a basement level of the building. Visitors will be able to tour the space and observe Hertz’s fleet of fuel-efficient cars and electric vehicles.
The space will be one of seven green car showrooms to be revealed by Hertz in the coming years, a source told Real Estate Weekly, and China will likely be a location for another showroom as Hertz recently announced intentions to boost its fleet of green cars there.
This same source also said that Tesla would have a few models on display alongside Hertz vehicles. Cars will not be rented from this showroom; however, its advent is hoped to feed business into Hertz’s two nearby car rental locations.
