2012-MY Nissan Rogue Gets “Sports Mode” and Around View Monitor
The new model pricing and features for the Rogue, as well as the 2012-MY Nissan Xterra were released Sept. 8.
Nissan North America Inc. released the new 2012-MY Rogue crossover features and pricing in a Sept. 8 press release. Not including the fleet incentive of $500, the suggested retail pricing for the 2012-MY Rogue starts at $21,530.
Compared to the 2011-MY Rogue, the new model will be equipped with Around View Monitor, in which four cameras equipped around this compact SUV will give a full overhead view of the vehicle. This system will provide the driver with an ample view of their surroundings while parking. According to the release, the Nissan Rogue will be the first nonluxury vehicle equipped with this technology.
The 2012-MY Rogue will also include 16-inch aluminum-alloy wheels, replacing its steel predecessor. An additional feature — “sports mode” and “normal mode” switching — will also make its way to the new Rogue. Mode switching, which is already installed in Nissan vehicles such as the 2011-MY Juke, allows drivers to personalize their driving style preferences. Sports Mode increases transmission response in a vehicle.
The Nissan Rogue is a leading compact SUV in auto rental. According to Auto Rental News, 2009-MY Rogue’s had 8,031 registrations in the car rental fleets and 3,683 2010-MY registrations.
Nissan Xterra
The 2012-MY Nissan Xterra will have an additional exterior color, Metallic Blue. Older exterior colors, Lava Red and Metallic Green, are also returning from previous model years.
The Xterra has a $1,000 fleet incentive, and the suggested retail price starts at $24,260.
