Dollar Rent A Car Systems, Inc., a subsidiary of Dollar Thrifty Automotive Group, Inc., announced the formation of a joint venture with Sixt AG and the Dogmoch Group, a company specializing in integrating major European companies into Arab markets.
The Dogmoch Group operates marketing and support offices in seven Middle Eastern countries and has an established network of contacts through its current representatives of 12 international companies. According to sources at Dollar, Dogmoch will provide sales and support staff, introduce Dollar and Sixt into the region, generate sub-franchisee leads, negotiate franchise sales, and develop and support new locations.
Under the terms of this alliance, the newly formed joint corporation will be granted exclusive license rights to operate automobile rental, sales and leasing operations in the Middle East. Both the Sixt Rent A Car and Dollar Rent A Car brands will be used.
This joint venture provides franchise rights for Sixt Rent A Car and Dollar Rent A Car operations in nine countries in the Middle East with a combined population of approximately 300 million.
Gary L. Paxton, president of Dollar, says that the venture is an excellent extension of the company’s business relationship with Sixt AG because it allows both companies to expand rapidly into new territories as well as presents an outstanding opportunity to further Dollar’s international presence.
