ORADELL, N.J. -- Enterprise Rent-A-Car is among the most recognized and respected car rental companies by small business owners, according to a new study released by the Small Business Division of TechnoMetrica Market Intelligence. The study also reveals that Avis, Hertz and Budget rank high in terms of favorability but tend to be less familiar to small business owners.
The report findings are based on survey data collected this summer from a sample of 1,034 small businesses from TechnoMetrica's Small Business Insights Panel -- a representative panel of over 7,000 American small and home-based businesses.
In addition to ranking car rental companies in terms of familiarity and favorability, the study also examines trends in car rental usage habits, preferences, and expectations of small businesses in the U.S. Specific topics include rental frequency, rental locations, price expectations, influential factors in the purchase decision, and enrollment levels in rental car programs for small businesses.
The study also concludes that in general, rental car companies have a tough time addressing customer complaints. The study reports that half of all problems (53%) experienced by small businesses during car rental transactions are not satisfactorily resolved.
