PARSIPPANY, N.J. -- Cendant Car Rental Group Inc., owner of the Avis and Budget car rental brands, announced today that it has implemented price increases across all booking channels.

The new rates are effective for rentals checked out beginning Feb. 15. The increase raises rates at both brands by $5 per day, or $20 per week, on all subcompact through premium-class vehicles.

"We're pleased to see an encouraging lift in demand," said Bob Salerno, president and CEO for Cendant Car Rental Group. "Avis and Budget continue to deploy separate pricing strategies for their respective customers. However, the improving travel climate allows us to roll out stronger rates across both brands and all channels."
