PARSIPPANY, N.J. -- Avis Rent A Car System Inc. announced it has extended its "Drive Free" promotion that lets renters earn a free weekend rental after they've rented three times. Customers now have until Feb. 29 to earn up to three free rentals.
In order to "drive free," customers must register for the promotion. For customers who enrolled prior to Jan. 1, 2004, all qualifying rentals completed between Sept. 1 and Feb. 29 will qualify toward the free weekends. New customers, who can register online at www.avis.com or through the Avis reservation center at (800) 722-5909, earn based on rentals that take place between Jan. and Feb. 29.
All car classes count toward the free weekend, as do rentals booked under corporate rates. Customers can earn up to three certificates.
Free weekend certificates must be redeemed by May 17, 2004, and certain blackout dates and locations may apply. Certificates will be mailed automatically within 30 days of a third rental. Optional products (such as refueling and insurances), taxes, concession, consolidated facility ($10/contract in California) and other surcharges may apply to the free rental. Full terms and conditions can be found on www.avis.com.
