Orbitz Offers Total Pricing for Rental Options

CHICAGO -- Orbitz today introduced an enhanced "car matrix" that displays a wide array of car rental choices with both daily rates and "total pricing." The total pricing feature includes estimated taxes and fees.

With the new format, Orbitz users no longer need to toggle between different screens to compare car options by daily rates, total pricing and competing rental companies.

"Users want to see the whole price before they rent a car online, and they don't want to hunt for it," said John Samuel, Orbitz's executive vice president of consumer travel. "Orbitz has solved the problem by showing users total pricing upfront in the initial search results."

Orbitz also added the following rental information to the initial search results page:

* Location of car rental service counters

* Details of any applicable mileage restrictions that may affect overall price

* Details of any restrictions, disclosures and other rental rules included in the rental agreement.

Orbitz offers its users a choice of 23 different car rental brands.
