According to www.abc2news.com of Baltimore, a federal judge reached a ruling on Nov. 14 in a case involving a rental car scam. Lamondes Williams was caught running the rental scheme back in 2009, and was ultimately found guilty on 30 counts including conspiracy and fraud.

The rental car operation was a rent-to-own scam, in which Williams and his co-conpirator Erica Brown, had victims pay a fee to join a program and then a monthly fee thereafter to have the vehicle. The victims would then run into a problem once the rental car agency contacted them asking for the rental to be returned after going over the short-term rental agreement Williams had made.

Both scammers’ sentencing has been scheduled for Feb. 16, 2012. Click here to read the full story.
