Gulf News reported Jan. 15 that car rental bookings in Dubai have increased this month compared to last year due to the amount of visitors to the country for the 18th Dubai Shopping Festival (DSF).

The peak season for the car rental industry in Dubai is December to January and after Ramadan, but tourists and shoppers for DSF contributed to the high demand this January, according to Omar Salahuddin of Fast Rent A Car.

Several other car rental companies attribute the increase to the Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce marketing efforts and low rates.
