Austin-Bergstrom International Airport Begins Construction for Conrac
The new consolidated rental car facility will house all rental car companies in a parking complex to eliminate the need to shuttle cars between the service center and the customer pickup area.
The Austin-Bergstrom International Airport will begin construction on a new consolidated rental car facility to increase efficiency for car rental companies on April 24, according to AustinTexas.gov.
The new conrac will feature all rental car operations in a five-level 1.6 million square feet parking complex. The airport aims to increase efficiency by consolidating fueling, cleaning, storage and customer pickup into one facility.
Currently, all car rental companies shuttle cars between the customer pickup area and the service center located a mile away.
The project is anticipated for completion in 2015.
