121carhire.com announced Feb. 6 that Croatia expects a high demand for car rental this summer due to an anticipated increase in tourism.

More travelers are planning trips to Croatia after its expected admittance to the European Union in July and a sales tax cut on tourist services in January.

The sales tax on tourist services was reduced from 25% to 10% — a 15% cut.

Bookings for Croatia on 121carshire.com have reportedly increased by 43% increase in 2013 so far.

“Our recent figures found that the most popular places in Croatia for car rental to date are Dubrovnik, Pula, Zagreb and Split airports, respectively, and we are preparing for an even higher demand in these areas this summer,” said Michael Bond of 121carhire.com. “Croatia is taking great steps to boost its tourism and economy to help it compete with traditional holiday hotspots such as Spain and Turkey.”
