The Irish Examiner reported today that Europcar Ireland is offering commuters 50% off car rentals until Thursday May 16 to help people get to work as the Bus Eireann strike continues. It comes as there was an escalation of a dispute in Cork where members of the National Bus and Rail Workers Union blocked a scheduled "GoBus" service from departing.

Colm Brady, business development director of Europcar Ireland, said: "While we sympathize with the workers of Bus Eireann, commuters across the country have been affected as they try to make their way to work."
