Hertz Global Holdings Inc. announced that Elyse Douglas, the current senior executive vice president and chief financial officer, has decided to step down from her current role, effective Oct. 1. For personal reasons, she is unable to relocate to the new corporate headquarters in Estero, Fla.
Douglas will stay with the company through Dec. 31 to assist in transitioning her responsibilities to her successor. David J. Rosenberg, the chief financial officer of Hertz International, will serve as the company's CFO on an interim basis while candidates are considered, says Hertz.
"Elyse Douglas has been a valued member of the Hertz senior management team since she assumed the CFO role in August 2007," said Mark Frissora, Hertz chairman and chief executive officer. "Elyse and her finance team helped lead us through the financial crisis in 2008 -2009, transform our balance sheet in the aftermath of the recession and engineer key acquisitions including Donlen and Dollar Thrifty and our recent investment in China Auto Rental. Speaking for the entire senior team and the board, Elyse's contributions to our success have been outstanding, and she will be missed by all of us.”
"Being CFO of Hertz has been a fantastic professional experience and it's disappointing that I'm not able to join the senior team in Florida," said Douglas. "The company has tremendous growth opportunities and has a great culture based on transparency and integrity. I look forward to watching Hertz capitalize on its strengths and new initiatives."
