Auto rental companies in Queenstown, New Zealand began an information-sharing network in January to prevent dangerous drivers from renting vehicles. No names have been listed on the blacklist thus far, according to an article in the Otago Daily Times.
The article reported participating car rental companies can add the information of drivers who are deemed to be dangerous to a shared database. It was designed to prevent unsafe drivers whose rental contracts were cancelled by one company from renting vehicles with another company.
