As of last week, Enterprise CarShare has suspended its carsharing service indefinitely in Toronto, according to a report by The Canadian Press.

The company has decided to end its services to “ensure the safety of its community” during the Coronavirus pandemic, says the report.

Because customers can rent vehicles across Toronto for short periods, it makes it difficult for Enterprise CarShare employees to clean the vehicles between uses.

At this point, Enterprise Rent-A-Car is still operating but has closed some of its locations due to low demand, says the report. Other carsharing services like Communauto and Zipcar are also still operating because they are able to clean the vehicles regularly between uses.
