Rental Company Gains Independence on July 3rd

ANC Rental Corporation began trading on the Nasdaq Stock Market under the symbol “ANCX” on July 3, 2000. After AutoNation, Inc. completed the tax-free spin-off of the rental corporation, made up of Alamo, National and CarTemps USA, ANC Rental Corporation became a free-standing public company.

AutoNation shareholders received one share of ANC Rental Corporation for every eight shares of AutoNation they own.
