TULSA, Okla. -- Dollar Thrifty Automotive Group has acquired the Thrifty Car Rental franchise in Ft. Myers, Fla.

The operation, previously owned by Galeana Rent-A-Car, includes the Thrifty airport location at Southwest Florida International Airport, DTG announced.

Terms of the purchase were not disclosed.

"We are particularly pleased to complete the acquisition of the Thrifty Ft. Myers operation for several reasons," said Jay Foley, senior executive vice president for corporate operations. "In addition to being located in one of southwest Florida's thriving tourist destinations, the area economy is also enjoying new business growth. In early 2005, a new Midfield airport terminal is scheduled to open at Southwest Florida International Airport to provide capacity for growing air travel to this key leisure destination."

The Ft. Myers acquisition adds approximately 600 vehicles to DTG's corporate operations, the company said. To date this year, DTG's acquisitions have added corporate locations in Vancouver; Aspen, Colorado; and Greensboro and Raleigh-Durham, N. C.
