TULSA, Okla. -- Dollar Thrifty Automotive Group announced the addition of the Thrifty Car Rental brand to its corporate operations in Philadelphia. The new Thrifty operation, located near the Philadelphia International Airport, will serve both airport customers and the local community.

"We are extremely pleased to add the Thrifty brand in Philadelphia," said Jay Foley, senior executive vice president of corporate operations. "DTG has operated the Dollar brand corporately at the Philadelphia International Airport since 1994. Adding the Thrifty brand will allow us to expand our customer base in Philadelphia and capture operating efficiencies in areas such as maintenance and fleet."

This greenfield opening reflects DTG's growth strategy first announced in December 2002. Since that time, the company has acquired 45 U.S. and Canadian airport markets and opened eight new Dollar or Thrifty greenfield locations. As a result, DTG has added approximately 28,000 vehicles, on an annualized basis, to the company's rental fleet.
