PARK RIDGE, N.J. -- Hertz this month began offering discounted weekly rates to customers renting economy-class vehicles and above in Canada.

Rates at participating Hertz locations start at $178.99 (Canadian) for a minimum five-day rental of a compact or economy car. Discount rates are also available for other car classes and include unlimited free kilometers. These offers are valid for vehicle pickup through Dec. 17, 2005.

The Rate Code LOWW must be mentioned at the time of reservation or rental. Customers can also click "Quote It" in the rate box on www.hertz.com and the rate code will be applied to the reservation.

Hertz has more than 250 locations in Canada.
