Mark P. Frissora, chairman and CEO of Hertz Global Holdings, Inc., has been nominated to the Walgreen Co. board of directors as an independent director. Shareholders will vote on his appointment at Walgreens Annual Shareholders Meeting on Jan. 14, 2009.

Frissora took the helm of the $8.7 billion global car and equipment rental company in July 2006 and has more than 31 years experience in consumer and automotive related businesses. Prior to joining Hertz, Frissora led Tenneco, Inc., the $6.2 billion global supplier of automotive emissions control and ride control products, where he served as chairman and CEO from 2000 to 2006.

Frissora serves on the NCR Corporation board of directors and is chairman of that board’s compensation committee. He also serves on the Automotive Board of Governors for the World Economic Forum.

Frissora earned a bachelor’s degree from The Ohio State University and has completed advanced studies at both the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School and the Thunderbird International School of Management.
