A Greenwich, Conn.-based luxury car dealership’s valet has been charged with secretly renting out the company’s vehicles to his friends, according to courant.com.
Forty-one-year-old Virgilio Collins-Meza, was employed at Lexus of Greenwich, and has been accused of renting out five Lexus sedans to his friends for $100 a day. The dealership had no knowledge of the transactions, nor did it give Collins-Meza permission to conduct such business, according to authorities.
Collins-Meza was arrested April 1, a day after the dealership reported the vehicles stolen. After one of the suspect’s friends crashed one of the vehicles and was caught by police, the trail led back to Collins-Meza.
The suspect was charged with five counts of first-degree larceny. Additionally, his five friends were each charged with one count of first-degree larceny.
