On April 11, officials at the Tampa International Airport held a public meeting for the community to weigh in on the airport’s 2020 master plan. The areas of study for the master plan revision include changes to the drop-off and pick-up areas, additional capacity for the rental car facility, new international terminal accommodations, easier access to the main terminal and other facility upgrades.

The airport officials cite congestion at the current rental car facilities and are currently interviewing rental car companies located at the airport.

The public meeting was the first of three with the master plan scheduled for completion in early 2013, the airport said. At each meeting, the airport will present the public with a revised master plan that takes into consideration community and interview input from each of the areas being studied.

“The update is a collaborative effort, and input from anyone with an interest in the airport is crucial,” said airport CEO Joe Lopano.
