The Hertz Corp. announced Nov. 1 it will be donating a portion of each car rental reservation booked through Hertz.com on Nov. 11 and 12, as well as part of every equipment rental contract opened between Nov. 1 and Nov. 11 to Disabled American Veterans (DAV) as part of the Hertz for Heroes program.

Hertz for Heroes was created by Hertz employees with military backgrounds in 2011. After partnering with Joining Forces, the White House's Veteran's Hiring Initiative, Hertz launched a military hiring portal allowing veterans and their family to apply for jobs with Hertz.

To date, the company has hired more than 300 veterans.

"With more than a million members, the DAV is dedicated to empowering veterans to lead high quality lives with respect and dignity," said Mark P. Frissora, Hertz chairman and CEO. "These are our brothers and sisters and neighbors throughout our communities; men and women who deserve our thanks and recognition for their sacrifice on behalf of our country. Hertz is privileged to once again honor our veterans and support DAV's mission of providing hope to our servicemen and women."
