A proposal was introduced in Maryland that would allow the Maryland Transportation Authority to give drivers a 30-day period to pay their toll or receive a $50 citation. The Authority said it is working with rental car companies to come up with a solution for unpaid tolls accrued by their customers.

Alamo, Enterprise, National to Offer Video TollPass Program

The TollPass Automatic service will pay tolls electronically for car rental customers in California, Colorado, Florida and Texas. The optional service, which charges $2 per 24-hour rental period or $6 maximum per rental transaction, will be available starting August 2010.
