Settlement ends class action lawsuit regarding failure to include airport recovery concession fees in advertised rental cost.
Under the plan approved by the Chicago City Council, customers could be charged an 11% concession recovery fee at the O’Hare and Midway airports. The vote also allows the airport to enter access agreements with off-airport rental car companies.
In the proposal, 10% of the revenues from the 11.1% concession fee would go to the companies to help mediate their expenses to stay at the city’s two airports, while the remaining 1.1% would help fund airport projects, according to the Chicago Sun-Times.
