Didi Chuxing is adding more restrictions to its platform, allowing drivers to only pick up passengers of the same sex during early morning and late at night, The Drive reports.

The measure is part of the ongoing response to the death of 21-year-old flight attendant Li Mingzhu, who was allegedly raped and murdered by a man posing as her driver.

Now, between 5:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m., and from 10:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m., drivers will only be allowed to pick up passengers of the same sex. Also, beginning June 22, Didi will be piloting an in-app feature that will allow passengers to share their route and destination with emergency contacts.

Initially following Mingzhu’s death, Didi temporarily suspended its carpooling service, which she had been using that night. The feature has since been brought back with restrictions.
