City and state officials cut the ribbon on Chicago O'Hare Airport's new 2.5 million square-foot transportation hub, ABC7 reports.
The Multi Module Facility features a centralized car rental area, a quick turnaround station, 12 electric charging stations, 2,600 parking spaces, and ground transportation including a Metra connection.
Thirteen car rental agencies are operating at Chicago O'Hare, and the cars are kept indoors. The construction project created 3,000 temporary jobs and 150 permanent positions with the car rental companies.
The $242 million facility was financed partially through a Department of Transportation loan.
