According to FleetDirectory.co.uk, WhipCar, a peer-to-peer car sharing company in the UK, launched a new program that allows governments and businesses to list their unused vehicles for other firms to rent.

The new service aims at reducing a fleet’s running costs and to get more use out of existing fleet vehicles.

Since April 2010, the company has privately operated for the public. Last year, the company says that private owners made an average of $1,300 by renting out their car.
