The Auto Rental Summit featured several seminars during the two-day conference.

A group of international car rental operators visited the new ACE Rent A Car facility near Orlando International Airport.

 

 

Chris Brown (left) led a panel discussion that offered best practices regarding the new recall law, including how to manage recall notifications and how to improve relations with dealers.

At the end of each seminar, attendees had the opportunity to ask questions.

 

 

During the Fleet Jam Session, Michael DeLorenzo of International Franchise Systems recommended that CUVs and SUVs make up 50% of a rental fleet or more.

 

Teresa Quale of Sonoran National Insurance Group led a panel discussion on tips to insure your rental fleet for optimal coverage. Panelists included Andrew Arnold of Lancer Insurance Group (left), Lisa Cisler from ACE Rent A Car in Tampa (center), and Bill Tierney of W.S. Tierney & Co.

 

David Stewart, chief business officer of Turo, announced that Turo has now opened up its platform to independent car rental agencies.

Sponsored by PurCo, Tuesday's lunch was provided for attendees in the exhibit hall. 

Shawn Concannon of TSD gave a seminar on how rental operators can prevent cyber-attacks and data breaches.

 

During a seminar, Wes Hurst (left) and Leslie Pujo (right) created an interactive game show to review the documentation, sales, and regulation of ancillary products and services like collision damage waiver and supplemental liability insurance.

During the third annual Fleet Jam Session, Anil Goyal of Black Book presented data and insights into depreciation trends, new and used vehicle supply, and factors affecting volume and demand.

 

 

 

 

Bill Jeffries of Hincklease (left), Jay Schuppener of Mile Fleet LLC (center), and Larry Soleta (right) of Walser Automotive Group discussed ways for fleets to address the small car depreciation problem. The panel mentioned strategies like changing fleet model/segment mix and adjusting hold times. 

 

Employment lawyer Richard Alaniz shared his insights into how car rental companies can prepare for new employment laws, including the upcoming rule that all employees must be paid overtime if they aren't paid at least $47,476 as a yearly salary.

 

Sharon Faulkner, executive director of the American Car Rental Association (left), moderated a panel discussion on strategies to deal with risky customers including cash or debit card customers, customers with no insurance and agressive customers.

 

 

 

 

Angela Margolit of Bluebird Auto Rental Systems moderated a panel that discussed different types of online brokers. Ceven Goodman of ACE Rent A Car Reservations (center) discussed ACE's affiliate system and David Stewart of Turo (right) talked about Turo's platform and how rental companies can list their vehicles.

Sharon Faulkner presented some highlights of the American Car Rental Association and its recent legislation achievements.
