2016 International Car Rental Show Seminars


Peter Smith, vice president of global franchising for Enterprise Holdings, discussed Enterprise's ongoing expansion of its three brands: Enterprise Rent-A-Car, Alamo Rent A Car, and National Car Rental.

The opening keynote address featured a panel of representatives from car rental and travel platforms: (l to r) Steve Matise of Travelport, Imad Khalidi of Auto Europe, and Bobby Healy of CarTrawler.

This year featured the first meeting of association directors from around the world, including China, South Korea, Brazil, Mexico, New Zealand, Canada, and the U.S.

Tyler Koch of CTD Investments presented tips to help motivate millennials in the workplace. This concurrent session included live polling for the audience to answer questions on the topic.

Angela Margolit, founder and president of Bluebird Auto Rental Systems, served as the moderator for the "How to Grow Corporate Rentals" seminar.

Moderated by Sharon Faulkner, this concurrent session showed attendees how to use leasing to fleet strategically. The panel of lessors and operators included (l to r) Harry Willner of Fleetway Leasing, Ben Rosenbloom of Marple Fleet Leasing, and Lisa Cisler of Ace Rent a Car in Tampa.

David Purinton, owner and president of PurCo Fleet Services, presented a seminar on how the Graves Amendment can lower a car rental operation's liability expense.


Leslie Pujo (far right) moderated the seminar that featured a panel of experts sharing best practices on compliance and solving operational challenges with the new recall bill.

Leslie Pujo, an attorney with Plave Koch, shared factors that form a good franchise agreement for both the franchisor and franchisee.


During a Latin American seminar, Kevin Stutz presented how price points have affected the customer experience, rates of cancellations, and rates of customers with previous reservation.


Jorge Juan de la Guardia of Panama Car Rental highlighted some of his company's strategies to increase corporate rentals.

This manufacturer panel shared best practices to maximize rental and loaner programs during an auto dealer day session. The panel included (l to r) Tim Wallwork of Nissan North America, Donald Skahan of Subaru of America, John Bauer of Toyota Motor Sales, and Lou Augello of American Honda Motor Co.

David Purinton hosted the first timers' networking orientation. He presented highlights of the event to newcomers.
