The seminar "Defining the Fleet Manager of the Future" discussed the new service offerings that fleet managers should investigate today, as well as how traditional fleet functions are changing.

Dr. Stefan Heck, CEO of nauto and leading transportation strategist, began the day with a seminar on how fleets hold the cards in an autonomous, connected, electric, and shared transportation environment. 

Sean Behr, founder and CEO of Stratim, Michele Cunningham, senior vp, products and services, and Rick Longobart, sales manager of EJ Ward and former government fleet manager, sat on the Fleet Manager of the Future panel.

Fleet Forward participants hailed from a diverse background in fleet and technology.

Jack Roberts (left), senior editor of Heavy Duty Trucking Magazine, listens to Alex Thibault of Vulog. Roberts made a presentation on the future of trucking, while Thibault sat on a panel that discussed Mobility as a Service solutions for fleets. 

Bobby Taheri and Jorge Vinueza of DriveWhip, serving metro D.C., represent a new type of fleet provider: renting specifically to ride-hailing networks such as Uber and Lyft. 

Fleet Forward kicked off with a cocktail reception at the pool of the Miami Hilton Downtown. Rich Tillotson of CCM Fleet Management Services is flanked by Joseph Monti (left) and Chris DiGuiseppe, both of Aamco Transmissions.

More than 150 participants gathered for the inaugural Fleet Forward Conference. 

Chris Brown, fleet editor at Bobit Business Media and conference founder and chair, kicked off Fleet Forward with the message that the world is preparing for "the fleetification of everything."

David Liniado, Cox Automotive's vice president of consumer mobility, discussed the how the lifecycle of fleets is evolving.

Alex Thibault (VP business development - North America for Vulog) presented with Maven's Rainer Becker. Thibault explained use-case scenarios in which fleets can increase utilization through shared use of vehicles on demand.
