The Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission has denied a $16 million rate increase to Indianapolis Power & Light Co. to pay for Indianapolis’ BlueIndy electric carsharing charge stations.
Vincent Bollore is looking to expand his electric carsharing service Autolib to Los Angeles as well as to Singapore. Originating in France, the carsharing service is debuting in London and Indianapolis later this year.
In order to raise $16 million to launch an electric car-sharing program, the city of Indianapolis wants to increase electricity costs by 28 cents per month for Indianapolis Power & Light customers.
Paris-based Bollore Group will launch its all-electric car-sharing initiative in Indianapolis with 500 vehicles by the end of 2015. The first 25 charging stations and 50 cars are expected to launch in December this year.
