Fleet Forward: The Tour announces the next and fourth stop of the series, coming to the New Jersey / New York region on Sept. 13.

The one-day regional event draws fleet operators and managers who attend educational sessions on transitioning to and managing electric vehicles, as well as ride-and-drives with new EV models and networking opportunities.

This event will be held at the Hilton Hasbrouck Heights/Meadowlands in Hasbrouck Heights, New Jersey. The hotel is located five miles north of the Meadowlands Sports Complex in East Rutherford, NJ. There are three educational seminars confirmed, with one slot open:

Educational Seminars

Transitioning to EVs: Key Considerations for Take-Home Fleet Vehicles

Converting a take-home vehicle fleet to EVs provides financial and operational benefits — yet comes with new complexities to resolve. Join this seminar for solutions and insights into:

  • Calculating reimbursement for at-home EV charging
  • Understanding tax rules around home chargers
  • Guidance on home chargers
  • Employee termination
  • Driver policy amendments
  • Insurance ramifications and more

Settiing up these processes before acquiring EVs will go a long way toward employee satisfaction and smoother fleet electrification.

Speaker: Dave Lewis, MoveEV

Making EV Credits, Rebates & Incentives Work for Your Fleet

The good news for fleets in New York and New Jersey is that state incentives now rival California’s programs in offering substantial relief from increased premiums of EVs over ICE vehicles. However, navigating the constantly shifting maze of grants, rebates, and incentives is no easy task.

This seminar will explain New York and New Jersey VIP programs along with surrounding state-specific grants, how to apply, and how they can complement substantial federal incentives in the Inflation Reduction Act.

They’ll also learn about funding for charging infrastructure in state programs and utilities’ make-ready funds, as well as funds disbursement through the massive National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI) Formula Program.

Speakers: Jeremy Hiler, Lightning eMotors; Celia Kosinksi, Electrification Coalition

Big Fleet Electrification: Sage Advice & Lessons Learned

Join Keith Kerman, New York’s first chief fleet officer, in a dialogue with Fleet Forward’s Chris Brown for lessons learned from electrifying over 4,500 units (and counting) of New York City’s Department of Citywide Administrative Services (DCAS) fleet.

Kerman will share perspective from the planning, implementation, and operational stages of fleet electrification.

Kerman will dig into:

  • Did the initial game plan play out as expected?
  • What were the bumps in the road and how were they overcome?
  • How did initial assumptions change after implementation?

This interactive discussion is designed to provide value for fleets of any type and size, and the takeaways will inform a smoother path for those just starting their electrification process.

Speakers: Chris Brown, Keith Kerman
