Green Motion International
Green Motion International recently launched in the African nation of Mozambique, furthering its rental fleet presence across the continent.
The Mozambique franchise has been acquired by local car rental entrepreneur Samuel Manhique, whose expertise and market knowledge will play a key role in establishing and growing the Green Motion brand in the country.
The new rental car outlet will be located near the international airport in the capital city of Maputo. Mozambique lies along the southeast coast of Africa, with a population of 37 million.
Founded in the United Kingdom in 2007, Green Motion has grown into a leading international franchise network, operating in over 80 countries worldwide and continuing to expand into new markets. The company’s franchise-led model empowers local entrepreneurs, ensuring each market benefits from strong regional leadership combined with global brand standards.
The launch in Mozambique reinforces Green Motion’s strategic focus on Africa, where the brand has been steadily increasing its presence through new franchise partnerships and market entries. This expansion reflects both the growing demand for reliable transportation and the increasing importance of sustainable travel across the continent.
"The continent represents a key growth region for our brand, and partnering with experienced local entrepreneurs like Samuel ensures that we deliver both exceptional service and strong local market understanding,” said Richard Lowden, founder and CEO of Green Motion International in a May 11 news release.
The launch of Green Motion Mozambique is expected to support tourism, business travel, and local mobility, while contributing to the broader adoption of environmentally conscious transport solutions in the region.
