Carsharing service Car2Go is raising prices for short trips as part of a "variable pricing" model, according to Tech Crunch.
Under the new price plan, which begins next month, rates will now be determined by time, location, and day. It will now be possible to have a per-minute rate of $0.35, lower than the current $0.45. However, the rate is subject to time, location, and date.
Additionally, rental periods of 30 minutes to four hours will be increasing in price. Rates for those rental periods could increase by as much as a third under the variable plan.
