Car Rental Show Panel to Address New Vicarious Liability Law

TORRANCE, Calif. --- In response to the federal legislation ending vicarious liability, the Car Rental Show has scheduled a special panel discussion on the effects of the new law.
The panel discussion is scheduled from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 13. Panel participants include Robert Muhs, Cendant Car Rental Group; Corey Tavel, Smith Mazure; Michael LaPlaca, LaPlaca McKenzie; and Mark Plousis, Philadelphia Insurance Co.
The Car Rental Show will take place Sept. 12-14 at the Las Vegas Hilton. Chuck Fallon, executive vice president of revenue generation for Cendant Car Rental Group, is giving the keynote address: "Evolving Trends in Revenue Generation: The Art of the Relationship."
Some seminars are targeted to corporate executives, while others are geared for independents and franchisees. Seminars will address a diverse range of topics, including travel search and reservation technology, vehicle remarketing trends, online auction options, loss-of-use collection, employee training for counter sales, Web marketing, new rental agreement requirements, franchise and affiliate options for entrepreneurs, fleet planning for the local market, preparing for insurance renewal, labor law requirements and more.
