Carsharing Service Drivy Rebrands as Getaround

Carsharing Service Drivy Rebrands as Getaround

Getaround plans to open in two new European cities next year and hopes to expand its carsharing fleet to 10,000 in 2020, according to the report.

Peer-to-peer carsharing service Drivy has been rebranded as Getaround, according to a report by Fleet World. This name change has occurred six months after Drivy was acquired by the U.S. carsharing company.

Drivy will now be known as Getaround in all six European countries where it currently operates, including France, Germany, Spain, Austria, Belgium, and the U.K. The united carsharing brand will now serve users in more than 300 cities in the U.S. and Europe.

Getaround plans to open in two new European cities next year and hopes to expand its carsharing fleet to 10,000 in 2020, according to the report. Additionally, the company plans to introduce an hourly pricing option to Getaround drivers.

Drivy’s European leadership is not planning to change. Paulin Dementhon, former CEO of Drivy, remains at the company and is now the European CEO of Getaround, according to the report.
