BOSTON –- Enterprise Rent-A-Car has partnered with First Notice Systems, a claims-reporting service provider, to offer insurance customers car rental.

Car insurance carriers using First Notice Systems can now add a car rental booking capability to their software program for access to Enterprise's 5,000 nationwide locations.

"We are extremely pleased to announce our relationship with First Notice Systems," said Bruce Clifton, vice president of national marketing at Enterprise. "Its solid reputation and expertise in claims reporting is the perfect complement to our process."

First Notice Systems establishes contact with policyholders at a critical point in the claims process –- at the beginning, shortly after the car accident, pointed out Will Fulton, president of First Notice Systems.

"The more First Notice is able to automate up-front, the smoother the claims resolution process is for both the policyholders and claims adjusters," Fulton said.

Each insurance carrier using the service determines the circumstances under which a rental car is offered to those reporting a claim. Carriers typically prompt referrals based on:

·The claim-reporter's relationship to the insured

·Coverage of the policy

·Severity of damage to the insured vehicle

·Any combination of a variety of criteria.

First Notice customer service representatives can either transmit the loss information into Enterprise's ARMS system, or transfer the caller directly to Enterprise's national reservation center. If a policyholder has rental reimbursement coverage, Enterprise can bill the insurance carrier directly.
