Garmin Selected as GPS Supplier for Vanguard
Units come pre-programmed with locations of hotels, gas stations, restaurants and tourist attractions, as well as National and Alamo locations.
Garmin International Inc. announced that National Car Rental and Alamo Rent A Car will begin offering portable Garmin GPS navigation devices at more than 150 National Car Rental and Alamo Rent A Car locations throughout the U.S. and Canada.
Based on Garmin's StreetPilot c330, the unit features a simple touchscreen interface with automatic route calculation to any destination and turn-by-turn voice-prompted directions.
The navigator contains detailed maps of the U.S. and Canada featuring addresses and nearly six million points of interest, including hotels, restaurants, gas stations, ATMs and tourist attractions.
Car rental locations for both National and Alamo are included in the unit's database so drivers can easily route to a rental return facility.
Headquartered in Tulsa, Okla., Vanguard Car Rental USA Inc. is the operator of National Car Rental and Alamo Rent A Car.
