vukee Car, a new electric car-sharing service offering only Tesla Model S vehicles, has launched its Indiegogo crowd-funding campaign.
Looking for $250,000 in funding, vukee Car plans to join the U.S. car-sharing market with its green service. If the funding goal is reached, vukee Car will be rolled out in San Francisco, Los Angeles and San Diego with more cities to come.

In addition, supporters of vukee Car’s campaign will have their names displayed around the design of each Tesla S vehicle, says the company.
With vukee Car’s mobile app, users can search for a Tesla vehicle nearby, book it and unlock the vehicle all from their smartphone. In addition, users can look for nearby charging stations through the mobile app.
“vukee Car provides an exclusive Model S car-sharing service that is incredibly fast, easy-to-use and allows users to book instantly wherever they are,” said Meik-M. Lindberg, co-founder of vukee Car. “If you haven’t driven a Tesla before, you’re missing out. vukee Car makes driving such an impressive car accessible and more importantly affordable.”
To verify identification and make payment, users scan their ID and credit cards with the built-in app verification system, says the company. Rides are charged using a pay-as-you-go model and there are no membership fees.
“We built vukee Car, spelling an end to the needless paper trail involved and connecting sharers together directly,” said Ralph Hesse, co-founder of vukee Car. “If the campaign proves successful as we expect it to, we’ll be looking to order the fleet of cars to ensure we fulfill demand for interested car sharers.”
