An employee of Enterprise Rent-A-Car has been arrested after police said that he arranged the theft of 11 rental vehicles, according to a report by WDRB.com. One of the rental vehicles was later used in a homicide.

The vehicle thefts occurred between Feb. 17 and Feb. 27 on the Enterprise lot at Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport.

An investigation found that Stephen Jackson used his employee ID card to move vehicles from the car wash area to rental ready lot. Then he would park the unlocked vehicles, leaving the keys inside, according to court documents. Unidentified accomplices would arrive and drive away in the vehicles without signing for them or paying for them.

One of those vehicles was later used in a homicide and another vehicle was used in a burglary, according to court documents.

The stolen vehicles were worth a total of $395,861, according to police. Jackson is charged with 11 counts of theft by unlawful taking of an automobile and one count of trafficking in a stolen vehicle or stolen vehicle parts, says the report.
